Working Group Job Specifications

Jonathan Thomas (Leadership team and Elder)

Pastoral work

The aim of pastoral work is to ensure that excising members are looked after spiritually and that people are visited when necessary. You will coordinate the 'pastoral team'.

Programming

Your role is to oversee every activity that happens in the church and ensure that it is biblical, coordinated, of high quality, and that all different types of people are catered for. Every event must go through programming.

Sammy Davies (Leadership team member)

ICT

The ICT coordinator is to ensure that all the ICT equipment in the church and cellar is in good running order, that we get replacements and upgrades when necessary, and that people are trained and put on a rota to use the equipment. Also oversees the website with the webmaster.

Music

Your role is to coordinate and develop the musicians with the Pastor.

Becca Thomas (Leadership team)

Women's ministry

Your role is to ensure that there is ample gender specific discipleship for the women in the church as well as organizing woman focused evangelistic events.

Children and youth

Your role is to oversee all the children's and youth work to ensure it is cohesive. You will also coordinate with the 'child protection officer' to make sure that all our volunteers have the correct training and documentation. Also oversees schools work and Tiddlywinks.

Wyn Jones (Leadership team and Elder)

Leadership development

Your mission is to 'spot' leadership potential and develop it. Also, you are to encourage leadership thinking within the working group, leadership team, eldership, and for all paid staff.

Darganfod

The aim of this position is to head up a working group of people who plan and run our monthly Welsh language service.

Wyn Owen Jones (Leadership team member and Elder)

Silver surfers

Your role is to represent and encourage the 65+ year olds (silver surfers) within our church. You run the Betws Rooted group, and feed back any issues they have with the day to day running of the church.

Gavin Williams

Building maintenance

The role of building maintenance is to ensure that the buildings we own are maintained. You will find out about any work needing to be done and bring it to the working group when necessary (where a budget can be set if necessary). When work is needed you will organize groups to carry out the work (volunteer or paid).

20+30 some-things Gavin Williams

The role of the 20 and 30 some-things coordinator is to encourage social events for this age group (although you do not have to organize them) and work in conjunction with the Pastor to ensure that a discipleship program is in place.

Aled Jones

Finance

The role of the finance group member is to keep track of all financial incomings and outgoings in the church. You will monitor that we are spending wisely. You will also look after bills and the cheque book. In each working group meeting you will produce a financial summary that shows our basic balances and monthly budget figures.

Sian Davies

Secretary

The secretary is to keep communication clear and up-to-date between all working group members, the church members, and with certain external agencies (as and when required). You will keep minutes of the working group meetings, and send out copies along with the agenda.

Tony Waters (Leadership Team Member)

Staff support

The aim of this role is to evaluate each paid member of staff each term (in conjunction with a member of the eldership) and ascertain whether they are fulfilled, content, working hard enough, doing the right things, and what further development they require. When new staff are appointed you are to oversee the entire process.

Men's ministry

Your role is to ensure that the men of the church are offered appropriate discipleship and social opportunities. You are also to ensure that we have man-type evangelistic events each year.

Ann Matthews

Hospitality

The aim of 'hospitality' is to coordinate food and drink as required in various church events. You will also encourage a 'fair trade' policy.

Jo-Anne Westlake

Head of Trustees

Your role is to ensure that all the requirements of the charity commission and companies house are adhered to and produce annual report and accounts. You will ensure we have a correct quota of trustees and that (with the secretary of the trustees) they meet at least once a year.

Pete Westlake (Leadership team member)

Building development

The building development role is to coordinate the development of the land that we presently own. You will lead a sub group when necessary to carry the vision on.

Grant Coordinator Pete Westlake

Primarily to ensure that a grant fund is not accessed without making the most of what is available. To liaise & advise those making applications.
